Hi there! Been longroofing since 1990, when I stripped out my totaled 68 Elco and swapped all the parts into a 68 Chevelle; power discs, tilt, buckets, rear sway bar, dual exhaust and five speed trans. Also installed a black interior and Vette rims, electric windows and locks, and Riviera corner lights. Our 62 Cad had them and I missed them. Installed 70 tail lights for safety. Currently waiting for a motor rebuild.
My DD is a 69 Jeep Wagoneer with a Buick 350 and TH400. Last years' upgrades include front disc brakes, H4 lights, new wiring and 4bbl.
Last is a 68 Impala which is mostly stock. 69 discs and a Catalina tilt.
My wagons have all been more practical than the Elco, and the Chevelle handles and rides better. When people ask me why I drive old wagons, I just point to one and ask, "Who is making new ones?" :2_thumbs_up_-_anima -lyle
