Hello gentleman I'm new to the forum and was hoping i could find a forum that would help me answer some question and point me in the direction to find parts to help me restore my grand fathers 1964 Ford country squire, After my grand father passing in 2010 I inherited the grandparents country squire which they bought from the ford factory in New York where they lived at the time. it had since travelled from New York to California twice before they moved to California in the 70's. The car had always followed them around and now is in my hands. The car was kept in its original state running and driving, My grandfather started to bring his car back to life but didn't have time to finish it do to cancer. So in 2012 the the work began and I found out very fast how absolutely awesome this car is and how hard it can be to find parts for this car and also how many people haven't herd or seen one. I know that was long winded but if any one has any links or words of wisdom in completely open. Thank you guys and i look forward to talking with you guys and learning. If anyone would like more specs on the car feel free to message me! Specs 1964 Ford Country Squire Grandfather original owner (im the second owner) 352 v8 (never rebuilt) Cruise-o-matic trans Original Autolite 4100 carb 98,000 orignal miles Palomino tan in color Factory interior (palomino tan) The car is 99% original (electronic points installed) Rear electric window
What a great project and what a great legacy. There is also a member here that has his grandfather’s 1964 Plymouth wagon. How cool to sit in all that memory. Good luck with it! I have a ‘64 Galaxie 500 4 door sedan. They are nice cars. Ebay is a great resource for lights, lenses, that kind of thing. Also you might find a carpet kit and other accessories. Good luck and keep us posted! I just saw a set of rails for that car on EBay. Dennis Carpenter in North Carolina may have things you’re looking for as well
Looks like you have all the right things to complete this great resto, passion, family history and a great friend in the shot gun seat. Thanks for the great intro and pics. Welcome aboard, nice to meet you.
Welcome aboard. Looks like a great car. But it's got an even better story. I too own my Grandfather's station wagon. It's pretty awesome to have that unbroken family heritage and history with the car. I'm looking forward to seeing how the project progresses.
Thank you OrthmannJ, I'm very glad I could find this forum with people on it who not only appreciate station wagons but are also willing to help. Even us newbees. i also agree the unbroken family chain with this car makes it all the more special to restore
