I just bought a 1961 Plymouth Valiant Station Wagon. I've been trying to get as much information as possible about it as I'm very excited to get going on making it into something special. I guess my first question would be, just how rare is this car? Thanks all!
There were 6717 Valiant V-100 wagons built for the 61 model year, and 10,794 Valiant wagons in the V-200 trim. I doubt theres very many left now though, so I'm sure its rare now. Now lets see some pictures please.
By far the craziest car that I've ever seen. No idea why someone would do this to a car but I literally just bought it and haven't made any changes to it yet.
First I want to welcome you to the forums. Then I want to thankyou for posting the photo, something some new folks don't or don't want to because they are nervous as to what others might think about their new purchase. I believe you have a very unique car with some VERY unusal extras. When you can I would be interesting in seeing the interior to see what kind of chances were made there. As you said, "why would someone do this to a car", we actually have a thread where you car as it sits right know would fit. Your a good sport for joining the forum and posting the pics. I believe you are going to fit in just fine. Your enthusiasm is contagious. I look forward to seeing you and your awesome car around the forum. Love the guns and frying pan...only in the U.S.A.
By no means am I keeping it this way and probably the only reason I bought it was because the nonsense chased everyone away. I don't have any pictures of the interior (car should be here tomorrow). When I get it I will take some pictures and start removing the "accesories".
Welcome to the Forum!!! That is quite the Valiant interesting accessories. A good project though and worth bringing back to her former glory! Thanks for the pics! :2_thumbs_up_-_anima
to the wagon train, pt. To heck with all the doodads on there....the bottom line is....that's a great wagon style and looks solid. And you were smart enough to look past the glue ons and snap it up!
That Valiant looks like a 'junior wagon' from National Lampoon's Vacation movie...... All kidding aside, I love those early Valiant wagons. really dig the quirky Virgil Exner styling. We can help you a bit with things, but in case you haven't already found it, these here guys are the experts..... http://www.forabodiesonly.com/ Welcome to the forum! Marshall
