Some nice examples, but NO, 1) A Woody Wagon is a wood-built wagon, whether it had a missing rear window and surfboard, or not; 2) so what if we decided to go to plastic trim and Di-Noc? Wood maintenance was horrendous way back when, even if you used marine varnishes, and as one poster mentioned, you don't pound out dents on those oldies.
1st car I can remember was the family 1949 Plymouth wagon, real wood canvas roof. My brother & I loved knocking the mushrooms off the side of the cars, they grew on the wood, after a rainy period. Also wore raincoats in the car as the roof leaked. Then came the red and white ford wagon in 55 WOW but the best was the 1960(?) blue Bonneville wagon. the last 1 my parents ever had.
Plymouth woodies don't get much notice but we saw a restored one in CA some years ago that was very nice looking. Believe the paint was a light mint green.
