Greetings and salutations from Wauka Mountain, Georgia - about 65 miles northeast of Atlanta. My name is Robert and I have been a Buick nut for about 30 years (I am 54), but I just purchased my first Buick station wagon last week - a 1994 Buick Roadmaster wagon. I love it!! It looks sharp, drives and rides like a dream, and the LT1 engine gets it down the road with spirit. I look forward to learning from other wagon owners and sharing some of my experiences and projects. My car spent many years up north, and most of the underhood screws and washers are rusted and the sheet metal is rusting around the screws. I want to replace the screws and washers and repair the rust damage as my first project. Then next on the list is to renew the woodgrain trim.

    Best Regards,
    Robert

Thanks for the compliment. To detail the engine, I used a 50/50 mix of water and "Purple Power" degreaser (available at Auto Zone). I sprayed it on a cold engine with a handheld squirt bottle. Saturate it well and let it sit for a few minutes, then gently rinse off with a garden hose. That will get 70% of the grime. Hit the "trouble spots" again with the Purple Power degreaser - really bad spots you can brush with an old toothbrush. Rinse again and then dry with an old bath towel. Then saturate the engine compartment with Armor All. Use your fingers to massage the Armor All into the surfaces, then let it sit for a few minutes. Go back with a clean dry "old" towel and wipe off the excess Armor All. Your definition of "old towel" and your wife's definition of "old towel" may be different - if in doubt, check it out with her. Don't ask me how I know.

Hi neighbor! Thanks for the compliment on the wheels - they are MB Wheels "Old School" from Discount Tire Direct - size 17" x 8" - here's the link:
