I've been digging into an old hobby again recently: HO scale Slot Cars.

I have converted a Greenlight Diecast Pontiac Le Mans into an HO scale slot car dragster.

Technically, its a 1977 Le Mans, not a 1976 Grand Le Mans, but close enough. Its my car!

    Isn't the body cast metal?

I just watched the video...apparently, a metal body is not a problem....

Yes, the weight of the metal is a bit of a hindrance compared to plastic, but once I've built a few more, they will be competitive against each other.
Performance in a straight line is not bad, considering.
I am thinking that the 1971 Vista Cruiser will be next. Possibly, the 1955 210 Townsman done in a Gasser style, too.

You need to do a CS or CP wagon as a cop car, using the Crown Vic lightbar, then install LEDs with a flasher circuit....

They actually have stripper Crown Vic wagons you could convert. Also Steve, green light has a wonderful 1976 LeMans Missouri highway patrol car. I’m really fond of their entire line. Good luck with your conversions.

Yup, some day I will be able to do that myself.
Right now, there are people in the slot car communities who do resin cast bodies and 3D printing, but there is little to no interest in station wagons. Weird.

Funnily enough, station wagons make better racers than sedans or coupes, due to the extra weight on the rear axle. Well, keep working at it; maybe a burr bit in a motor tool will help you 'swiss cheese' those bodies, so to speak.
