There is a major snow storm moving in from New England that will impact us all day Sunday. http://www.theweathernetwork.com/weather/canada/nova-scotia/truro We are expecting between 20cm(about 8") to 30cm(12") The Boston area is recieve this storm now... http://www.theweathernetwork.com/weather/united-states/massachusetts/boston It's between VERY cold over the past few days. We woke up this morning to -18c(-0.4f) with the windchill making it about -24(-11.2f). Driving home on Wednesday I had no heat in the car...brrrrr. Turned out it was low on antifreeze. Poor little thing is pumping out the heat now. The truck took it's turn on Friday, hubby near froze his toes off coming home from work...brrr again. However I managed to get a bit more shopping done this morning and we picked up our Christmas tree this afternoon, it's standing in the livingroom now, I'll decorate it tomorrow during the storm, won't be going anywhere. Stay save guys in the storms path, and it's a big one. Stay home if you can...movie night here.
Good luck. We're not getting anything we will need to shovel. But I may have to start bailing. Lots of rain and thunderstorms. I've been off internet most of afternoon because of the rain. Be careful and stay inside if possible.
Must be pretty bad storms. The good news, with this storm the warm southern breezes are moving in also. It shouldn't be a ccoollddd!
Snuggle and don't worry about the weather. We'll send some warm air your way. Still raining like crazy here. That keeps me off line a lot. Gonna turn in early. Have on our nite clothes.
Good luck, Fannie. Let's hope it is not as bad as predicted! The other day we were supposed to get 22 cms (about 10 inches) and all we got was about 2 inches!
Ditto what Mike said. I just experienced the biggest snow storm I've ever been through - and it was only 8" or so dropped over 24 hours. Kind of imobiiized the town for a week or so - we're only used to getting 3" at a time apparently...... Hunker down.......
Looks like about a foot dropped here in N. Indiana. Didn't really cause huge problems in and close to town but I imagine some of the outlying areas might be a bit difficult. I will get an opportunity to see how Old Ironsides does in the snow today (played a little last night). Will give a full report on the Sooner Schooner impressions thread. mike
Looks like an indoor Christmas baking and gift wrapping day. Last night it was judi's Christmas party and we put the vans to work driving all the drunks home. Drunk tips are great!
Good on you for being the "DD" Now as for the drunk tips, lets just hope they were drunk enough to not remember who drove them home when they look in there wallet/purse the next morning, GN, GN, GN.....
Still nothing here to shovel. Had thunderstorms all yesterday afternoon which kept me off internet a lot. Rained all night till this morning. But still in the 60's most of the night and maybe 70 now. Have fun driving and playing in the snow.
Accuweather shows "heavy snow" and high of 34 today for Truro, NS, AKA Fannieville. Looks pretty ghastly to us in GA,lol! Hope Fannie's doing ok! We'll need to see !
Here in Canada, most of the Climate Change deniers live in Alberta and Ottawa, Ontario (Federal Government and Parliament). Funny how silent today. May the bird of paradise drop on their cereal! We're breaking cold temperatures here. 12 days of below -30C windchills! All that CO2 coming from our tarsands is busting up the Ozone blanket, and even though the Artic glaciers are melting, this cold is coming from above the Ozone blanket. And right over Alberta, where the tarbabies wallow in it! Brer Rabbit is in his briar patch.
