Soooo.... some of you know me from the Longroof forum, obviously. Some of you have no idea who I am. My name is Ray, I'm 22 now, and about to graduate from college. I bought my wagon freshman year because I wanted something to haul my dorm stuff:

It does so quite reliably. I joined the forums, got to know people, etc. First thing I did was get some cooler full moon hubcaps:

I really wanted to go to the show in Daytona. My car, obviously, wasn't show worthy, so I got creative and turned the hood into a chalkboard thanks to Rustoleum:

It was, as you can imagine, a huge hit:

In 2011, somebody thought it would be a cool idea to loosen some lug nuts off of my left front wheel. This caused some damage, but ruined the steel wheel as well. I couldn't find another one, but I fell into a deal on some other 15" polished aluminum wheels. It was finally starting to look cooler (and I was tired of losing the hubcaps... I lost 3 of those damn things over time):

For Daytona 2012, I got my craziest idea yet. I heard that they were changing the show around, not letting in common/non-modified/whatever vehicles... so I decided I wanted to paint my car. I had been dreaming of doing it up since I bought it, and this was the perfect excuse, so I set out to learn. The show was the weekend after Spring Break, so I only had a week from start to finish to get this thing right. I was determined.

    Removed the beltline trim:

    Began scuffing the car up...

Also, replaced the front clip. Both of my fenders were dented. One was bad when I bought it, the other was damaged when the wheel incident happened. And the front bumper was cracked too, so I got some good donor parts and...

That's my dad helping to grind some crustiness away.

By the end of day 5 we had the whole car sanded, and the front clip was replaced!

I used an old fender as a test panel to get a feel for spraying and stuff... I thought it was good.

This is the only photo I have of it in progress, after I took down my temporary paint shelter and unbagged all the glass...

That was the morning I had to be back to school. I quickly reassembled the car, and drove back. I was happy with it.

This year, I got a class 3 hitch for it, because I'm off campus and in my own apartment, so I had to transport furniture and stuff.

And now... how it sits today:

Tint, done over Thanksgiving break, is 20% front, 15% rear. The 1991 OCC in the background belongs to my mom, Grimace.

Soooooooo that's my wagon story. I feel like Texas Mike (81X11) with all the pics. :)

    So hi!

Haha! No, she's following in mine! That OCC came from Sprocket from the GM Longroof forum (he might be here too, I don't know!). That's Grimace.

I did make it to the show! Had a great time, too.

Got myself a souvenir for going, too. :D

    Welcome Ray / Stingroo!
I know the name of course, but I didn't recognize the wagon...... so many over there on the Longroof that I get confused as to whose is who's. I believe I spotted Flash Gumby's signature on your hood. Did you save the hood for posterity?

Glad to see another younger guy here. I'm 22, as well. Looks like you've really put some love into that wagon of yours! Very nice.

Yep! It's my pride and joy. lol

Just ordered some Moog CC623s for the rear springs, because I keep dragging my hitch on the entrance to my apartment. That and an OCC cluster swap are my winter break projects.

Normal kids spring break? They go to Mexico or something.

Me? I paint a wagon. lol

Welcome aboard! Nice wagon you've got - let us know how the dash upgrade goes. I'm upgrading my dash this winter too - new dash, tach and gauges. No more idiot lights.
