    Well... Hello to everybody!

I'm opening this new thread about a Sierra 58' I already talk about that car in another thread but it wasn't at the right place anymore, that's why i'm opening this brand new one! :jumping:

well, I bought that car in March, in Germany. The car was before in Illinois, then in UK, Then Germany and now : Switzerland... traveller car indeed!

I'm sure that some of you knew this car, I think it was sold in 1999.

We could find other pictures of that car in United kingdom took in 2010. First I was not sure if it was the same car because in USA, this was a rusted car, in UK it seems to be a good, fresh, solid car.
This could be a magic car! a Christine Dodge Wagon clone!!
But one thing is absolutely the same:The Bumps on the rear left fender! Christine did much better!:(

    DSCF0484.jpg

Look at that! the paint seams to be great and the wheels are not black anymore but.... RED!! Christine is not far away...:rofl2:
Well, the car has been sold in Germany in summer 2012 and driven bye her own... on a truck I think!!

Question : how can i insert more than 5 pictures in a message?

    Bye

    Jerome

    Hello to everybody!

Thank you all for welcoming me, I'm not really new on this forum, I wrote a thread about my Panhard Wagon few month ago.

Well, the car looking "good" "straight" etc. but it's not....

When I bought the car i have listed work that I wanted to do in any case.

Breaks overhall, complete front and rear suspension, engine and torqueflite tune up etc. Well it was already a lot to do. I saw rust at several places and bad reaper on the floor mats, not to bad as i was thinking... I was Wrong!

There is really a lot to do on the body, all the floors should be replaced, wheel arch are totally rusted, rear fenders are full of holes... well I am disappointed:cry:

    Lets show that together!

Nice isn't it? and that's only a part of the car...
Well I do not have more than to motivate me:drink:

Hey, Jerome: I can see why you are disappointed with the condition of the Dodge. Still, when you are done, I am absolutely certain it will be, like the Panhard, better than new. It will be a car you can be very proud of. Having seen the kind of work you do, or have done, this is going to be about the nicest 58 Dodge on the road! Keep the faith, and you will get there.

Es scheint als den Wagen nie eine deutsche Zulassung hat. Denn, würde die T.U.V./Dekra-Mitarbeiter den Unfall findig über was mangelhaft repariert worden war (It looks like the car never had German registry. Otherwise, the inspection authorities would have detected the poorly-repaired accident damage)

    Hello everybody,

Ich wußte, daß das Auto deutsche Dokumente niemals gehabt hatte, die Kontrollen der Fahrzeuge sind in der Schweiz auch sehr streng.

I knew that the car had never had German papers the controls of vehicles are also very strict in Switzerland.

Well, i'm not going to restore that car, I just do the necessary job to get a good driving car. If I wanted to do a good job i will have to put the body of the frame and

    1) I have no time for that
    2) i do not want!:disagree:

I had many problems to put away the torsion bars from the bracket and with bolt and nut very hard to unscrew. one of the torsion bar get off with 15 tons pressure on, the second at more than 20 tons with heating with blowtorch...

    IMG_2095.jpg

after I gave parts to get painted and zinc plated, front drums to be turned with new shoe on etc.

    IMG_6792.jpg
    IMG_6929.jpg

During that time Somebody came to unsettle the mouldings and sand the car.

I will send you other pictures later today

    Bye

(They used to be even more strict, some time ago. As I was driving a moving van from Sweden to Italy, more than 20 years ago, the customs agents prevented us from entering Switzerland, until we repaired the righthand-side headlight. After having poked around in the fusebox, we eventually got it to work.
Nowadays, anything and anyone can get in. From German wanna-be Hell's Angels types with no muffler baffles to rusted out cars from France)

I thought you Swiss could do everything. Are those parts completely rusted through or just pitted?
