From what I gather, these cars would have been early to mid 70's. Stumbled on a Mopar wagon I have never seen before, a 1970's Dodge. I knew of 4 door sedan versions of this body but first time ever seeing a wagon, only bummer no other info or pictures I could find than what I've listed below. Dodge of Spain (first posted 2/8/2012) Not all Darts spent their lives shuttling old folks or cheapskates. In Spain, the Dart was the biggest, most luxurious car made there, and given the severe restrictions on imports then, it was the choice of top government officials and other society big-wigs. Not only was there a wagon version , but all Darts/3700s had front disc brakes, four speed stick shift, sumptuous leather interiors, full instrumentation and other delights withheld from us US bumpkins. Spanish TV show (below) claims this model to be a 1971............ What the sedan looked like, from what I can find it seems no 2 door models were maid in Spain........... Ironically it appears Argentina shared the same skin with some minor face lifts............... Only pictures I have been able to find re- Argentina a Polara, only a hearse, no ambulance of wagon And the 4 door Dodge Coronado of Argentina. The Argentina base model Polara. Polara GTX.
Dodge of Spain and Argentina (Part 2) And then the Argentina Polara RT....... Yes I want one of these more than a Brazilian Maverick! 318 engines was the only V8 available. I guess between years tail lights changed, that's the only difference I can find and the grille.
Nice find Tedy. There are all sorts of wonderful cars and trucks produced across the pond and in South America that we here in North America never got to enjoy. It's always neat to come across them. Thanks for sharing.
Guessing this picture below is of the black hears I posted above. http://auto.mercadolibre.com.ar/MLA...ara-funebre-100000-km-de-fabrica-original-_JM A Willys Kaiser of Argentina.
I always liked these cars. I though the Spanish versions with the quad round headlights looked the best, but the two door hardtops were only available in Argentina. The Dodge GTX was the 2 door hardtop built with the 318 V*. The Polara RT was the 2 door hardtop with bold side stripes but it was only available with the slant six.
That Kaiser hearse is cool. My Father-in-law has a Kaiser Manhattan. I didn't know too much about these cars until he inherited it from his dad. They are certainly unique in their own right, but the hearse is something I've never seen before. Very cool. Thanks for sharing.
