I'm trying to figure out a good way to protect the floor and rear windows on my 67 Coronet wagon. I use it to move furniture now and then since it's bigger than any of our other cars, but too often I have stuff sliding around and coming close to knocking out the windows or scraping the rear plastic trim panels.

I've considered getting some red carpeting remnant I can cut to fit the back, but I'm not really sure what to do about securing loads. The panel that covers the floor well in the back is made out of wood - I've thought of screwing some U-shaped brackets into the underside of the wood to secure loops onto the top without damaging any of the covering, but that isn't really at the edges of the floor where it should be. I have a little hang-a-bag thing strung along the back of the rear seat when it's folded up to hold my lead additive and extra oil and junk, but that barely weighs five pounds.

Blah blah blah, here's a picture from when I just got the car to show you what I'm working with:

It's sheetmetal at the back of either side, the area towards the front where the seat folds down doesn't really have much I can use. Any similar mods or off-the-shelf materials that might work?
The under-floor area is pretty big, so something collapsible I can throw in there when it isn't needed would be handy..
