Don't ya love those cars towing a trailer that looks like the same car? Here's one:http://www.hemmings.com/classifieds/carsforsale/volkswagen/karmann_ghia/637887.html I think our wagons would be cool towing a like trailer. Norm, do you still have that Zephyr half in your back yard?
Some Fiero enthusiasts have made a trailer out of the back half or front half, or both halves of a Fiero for a trailer. Ford once made a very few station wagons with a matching boat that rode on the roof of a matching trailer. This was in '53 or '54, I think. If I can find a photo I'll post it. Here's one, but I know there is a better photo out there somewhere. http://www.auburntrailercollection.org/id1.html And another: http://www.tincantourists.com/classified/showproduct.php?product=929&cat=3
It was a 2-door sedan futura, all smashed up to the rear window. Rust bucket PLUS! It was hit at 6 MPH in a parking lot. The driver floor wasn't there at all, the carpet had a piece of plywood under to keep the water out! That sure is a nice setup though. I've got the rear windshield for it though. The gas tank went to Andy. It fell off when I yanked the exhaust pipe from the car.
Here's the one I was looking for: http://blog.hemmings.com/index.php/category/trailers/ [scroll down to find this image, more images, and a little info.] Is that cool, or what!?!
Can you imagine what he paid for the second parts car? Those ain't cheap, if you can find one! Knock outs both of them!
I kept this Airstream Link to see how I could clean up my aluminum bumpers, but there are some Trailer collectors in there, IIRC. No time to look today. It's a perfect day to work on my Wagon. http://www.airforums.com/
Thats neat. More pictures can be seen here http://home.comcast.net/~ctrobinton/Karmann_Ghia/index.html That reminds me, ive seen a picture of a VW wagon pulling a trailer that was made using another vw wagon. Im going to try and find a picture of it...
heck...i can barely find the time/moola/motivation...to work on 1 car...never mind a matching trailer!!
