It makes me sad and angry although my brakes locked up on my wagon so you never know what happened.

Looks like a 1988-89 Mercury Colony Park Wagon. Probably not a 90-91, because there was no air bag deployment.

It's a shame. It looked like a decent rig.

Staged? Look at the guy to the left of the shot. He does not act surprised. He does not run up to the car to see if the guy is ok, very non schalant about the whole thing. He is holding a walkie talkie. The woman passenger is smiling. No gasps from other passengers. Safety demo? Safety video being shot?

the road construction had him confused. Or it was some kind of demo somewhere like Universal studios where you ride the movies.

I don't think they'd have passengers on the train if they were shooting a safety demo. I think everyone is just a little stunned, and the woman passenger's smile is probably embarrassment after the crash made her jump.

That was a divided two-lane road, and he was all over it even as he approached. I think either his brain or his eyes were somewhere around the floormats.

Breaks my heart. That Merc looked pristine.

The guy on the street probably just filled his drawers, he has that expression on his face you see a lot in old folks homes. The lady looks like she realizes what he just did and is glad he's not coming to pick her up at the station. The driver of the wagon is probably never going to live this down, particularly with it all over the internet(y)
