Are 63 Mercury and 63 Ford suspension parts interchangeable

    Can anyone confirm that suspension parts for a 1963 Ford Galaxie wagon are interchangeable with those for a 1963 Mercury Colony Park? I want to lower my Mercury CP using lowered leafs in the rear and lowered coils in the front as well as replacing/rebuilding tie rod end, bushings, etc. and I keep getting conflicting answers. Thanks.

    I believe they should be interchangeable. The '63 Fords and Mercs were about as close as you can get without being identical.

    My only suggestion is to maybe check with a knowledgeable old salvage yard guy to be sure.

    I am with KK on this one. I can't imagine the Mercury having different suspension components than a Ford of the same year.

    Thanks guys. I have to think FoMoCo used the same parts for the full size Fords and Mercurys and Dearborn Classics lists lowering coil and leaf springs for the Galaxie. :clap::cheers::thumbs2:

    had a 62 Mercury Monterey 2 Dr hardtop, lots of stuff interchanged from Ford Galaxie.
