I do not currently have a station wagon but love them. It would be great to find a 60s era wagon to go along with my '62 Airstream.

I am a Ford guy, but I would not rule out either GM or Mopar. I am a huge fan of the early 60s Dodge wagons. Ideally, a 1962 model would be great so it would match the trailer. But at 5000# it definitely needs to be a beefy V-8 and a solid tranny. I was looking at a 67 Ford here in Phoenix, but did not get to it in time. It was all set up with receiver hitch, trans cooler, and wiring, and it had the 429 engine. I procrastinated and it was sold quick.

Great! Another Ford guy. You can't go wrong with a 429. You'll find one. You have to be careful with the 67's tho. If you get one with front disc brakes the parts are unique to the 67s. Replacements are quite hard to find I hear. I'm really partial to the 68 Squires with those hidden headlights.

    Good luck with the search.

When I was a kid my dad drove a '68 Country Sedan wagon but it did not have the hidden lights. I guess that was the Galaxie version.
