    Whaddaya say, forum members.

My name is Al and I love wagons, but I don't currently own an antique at all. I live in East Tenn., and I'm about to turn 55 years old. In 1969, one of my first cars was a 60 Stude Lark VIII wagon that I totally trashed, but had fun doing it. In 1973, I bought a 61 Rambler American wagon that I owned for 6 months or so. My next wagon didn't come until 1990 when I bought an original unrestored 54 Chrysler New Yorker Town & Country wagon. How I loved that car. I kept it for nine years. During that time, I drove the car from E. TN. to Charlotte, NC a time or two and in 1994, I drove it to Carlisle, PA for the fall car show. There's nothing like getting on the interstate and passing traffic in a 40 year old car. You get a lot of rubberneckers, and you meet a ton of folks every time you stop to fill up with gas. I sold the car in 1999 for a variety of reason, mostly financial, but I had enough sense to realize that it would be a very long time before I would ever be able to give the body the restoration it needed and deserved. Now, I'm not sure that I will ever own another antique, although I have a relative that owns an extremely rare 51 Chrysler New Yorker Town & Country wagon (only 251 produced). It is possible that I could inherit this car someday, but it needs a TOTAL restoration.

Anyway, I love wagons of all kinds, but my interest really drops off after 1965 or so. Anything else is modern wheels to me, although I appreciate that there are others really into wagons of any year, and I salute them. I'll take any wagon over the dreaded mini-van.

My main interests lie in Studebaker and Mopar - and, I love all body styles, including 4dr sedans. I guess I don't have much to offer this forum in the forum of current wagonese, but I love to talk and I can type fairly well, so I'll be posting to a variety of topics for sure.

That's enough for now. Be talking to ya.

    Thanks

    Al
