    At first glance, that BMW may seem like a good deal, but there are some negative factors here....
    - It's already 21 years old, with over 200k on the clock. Probably needs some very expensive maintenance work in addition to the body repairs.
    - Resale value on these isn't all that much - a lot less than BMW sedans and coupes. For some reason, most BMW wagons don't hold their value very well in the US. - particularly when they get this old.

    I wouldn't necessarily say that $1,000 is a good deal on this.

    BMWs of that age are EXPENSIVE to keep. By now, the wiring harness is starting to give problems, and that is a nightmare. In pristine condition they are only worth about $3,000. Needing work after a crash, even with all the parts included, you are coming out on the short end of the stick.
