g'day ya'll! strangely enough, i've recently become the proud owner of a 91 mercury colony park. wood-side, all options (all still work, too) 204k on the ticker, w/ 40k on the rebuilt 5.0. just purchased it a few weeks ago due to the need of a work vehicle with loads of cargo space. being 27yrs of age, i'm looked at rather odd stepping out of a woody grandma wagon. Give me a month or so, it'll turn heads for proper reasons. i've always been a fan of the ol' wagons, wish i could have found an 80's or later 70's model, but i'm content for now. pics are a bit dodgy for now, but i'll post some better ones once progress has begun.
to the wagon train, capking! That looks like a nice wagon. I always liked those...they loaded them up nice and have great comfort accoutrements. Keep us updated and join in our family discussions.
hey congrats on the purchase !! careful...they're addictive...kinda patatoe chips with wheels !! to the board
Welcome aboard, Ck. Good luck with the Colony Park. It looks like it's in great shape. I love my '87; I know you're gonna love your's as well. Hey, the heck with those people giving you odd looks when you're exiting your "grandma wagon". They're just showing the ignorance, plus, who do you think is going to be the first person they'll call if they have to move anything bigger than a bread box? All of a sudden, they may have a new found respect for your car when they realize you can move a 4X8 sheet of anything with the tailgate closed!!
Welcome to this forum. Nice CP - always liked them, even the '84 that burned up on me after only owning it a week (but that's another story). If you're looking to bling out the rolling stock a bit, check out 'take-off' alloy wheels for the current generation Explorer, Mountaineer and Aviator (2002 on up) They are available in 17" sizes and are a direct bolt-on.
Wow do we have wagons coming out of the woodwork or what? I think the word is out on us.:2_thumbs_up_-_anima
A Colony Park with a 5.0L?!?!? What have they done to these 302's that they can run a big wagon like that!?! My Fairmont Squire had a Mexican 302 and never had the kind of power/torque I expected. My I6 transplant has more get up and go. No high end, but lots of low end torque, and better MPG. Fine looking wagon. You must be proud of her. Welcome aboard.
