Time to start my Queen's Family Truckster build thread. I picked up this 89 LTD Crown Vic several months ago with a bad motor due to an overheat. It has an original 52k miles on it and it's in very good condition. I had the engine replaced and I've started collecting parts for the conversion.

I've been working on the emblems for the past few days. I'm hoping to get them 3d printed over the next week.

I'm glad to hear that you are getting started on your project. There are a couple of other fellows that have had Family Truckster builds on here in the past. It might be worth your while to check them out so you can learn from their experiences.
I'm looking forward to watching your progress.

The parts collection is almost complete. This was delivered this week. I just need a front/rear bumper from the earlier years and another set of headlight buckets with turn signals. Not very authentic but I did upgrade all of the exterior lighting to LED, these things have terrible headlights. I tell you what though, when I get all 8 LED lights on high beam, it'll look like stadium lighting....

I've finally made some progress on the truckster over the past few weeks. Front end is almost done except for the fine running and grill. Rear lights are on and quarter window trim is re-shaped. I started on the extended and lifted roof rack yesterday.

Today I'm off to the wrecking yard to get the correct hood, bumpers, side view mirrors, and quarter window frames for the sheet metal.

The 3d printed emblems should be here this week.

It won’t be authentic until you drive thru St. Louis and get your hubcaps stolen…

After two visits to a wrecking yard, an hour and a half away, I acquired the correct set of front and rear bumpers, another roof rack, the correct set of side view mirrors, a solid bench seat (mine was split and not like the movie car), the correct hood, and the rear quarter window sheet metal to frame in the new window shape. Here's the carcass from the donor car. Let's just say my work is cut out for me.
