The weatherstrip on the outside (inside too) of the tailgate window (in my '89 Buick LeSabre Estate Wagon) is brittle and falling out in chunks. I've looked every place I can think of and can't find replacement parts. I'm pretty sure all the window seals, on our beloved Boxie's are in the same shape. Anybody have a source or a fix? Thanks, Paul
I got mine from here. Enter your own vehicles info and see what they've got. https://www.am-autoparts.com/1980/Pontiac/Catalina/weatherstripping.html
No one repros the tailgate weatherstrip for the B-body wagons. There are N.O.S. GM parts still in the system. Google GM P/N 20225797 for the outer.
there is a web site called www.rubbertherightway.com the guy is great and he has the rubber part for P/#20225797
Hey thanks John, I just ripped them off an email. I just never lost hope that someday somebody would repop this very vital piece of rubber. As near as I can tell, ALL the NOS parts are gone from the system. have you got yours yet? Thanks, Paul
i have not just found this guy and called today and he wants me to get some more info and call on friday so he can give me a better deal on shipping but he says its the same rubber that i am looking for his P/# is 10 (space) 164x in the search bar and it looks like what i need i have the chrome so all i need it is the rubber
I got one from somewhere a while back, inner and outer as a set but the outer fits for crap at the edges, no bend and when you curve it to fit the rubber kinks...and yeah no one makes the tailgate seal. What ido love to find is the corner pieces that the glass rides against and seal against the rubber when you close the tailgate
