i have a guy willing to sell me rims and tires off of a 2005 mustang, as far as i can tell they should be 5 * 4.5 just like the rims on my 77 ltd ii wagon or the cougar. does anyone know if these will fit my car with 16's on them? thanks in advance

Although the lug pattern is the same, there are other issues. The Mustang wheels have a very deep backspacing and will require at least 1" spacers to keep them from rubbing your suspension and chassis components.

Yup - a bummer about modern chassis/suspension/steering dynamics. Most modern vehicles have adopted zero or positive offset wheel specifications vs. our old wagons that have negative offset specs.

    Pictured in this diagram...
