Price now down to a reasonable amount, IMO. Yes, it has issues, but it does run and drive. Maybe the seller will drop in here and comment, like he has before.

Under 4k, besides the rust and mold issues, this is not a bad price if you can live with these issues. It is not a collectable but at least for now he is not asking a collectors price either. However the biggest issue still may be trying to deal with him though!

Mold is mold IMO = stay away and older threads showed the full extent. The car itself was posted prior to new paint by owner, not the best example to begin with pre-paint and the pics shown are 2 years plus old...... just what exactly does it look like today?....wait, I don't want to know!

Yup, wish this one would just mold away for good.

I just think that at certain price point, it will represent some value.

    Uggghhh!!! :vomito:

"I've never shown it even though I've had a few responses on it. I honestly hate to sell it period, especially for this price and if I do not sell it before I move I'll just build a spot for it in my new back yard and will keep it until I get what it is really worth!"

    Still a.........

Looking at all the mold I think he should cut the roof off and make it into a planter. Mold is the worst thing to get out of upholstery...

Cars can be remediated, just like a house can. Remove anything and everything from inside the car. Re-do every upholstered surface, including the headliner. Clean every vent and vent tube with a bleach solution. Take every plastic and metal part you can out and clean thoroughly. Check out the electrical as a matter of course. Reassemble. A moldy car CAN be brought back. This one has not.

a lil pricy for a gut and strip job.. and i've done my fair share of mold and flood repair on cars… even to the point of taking whole seats out and soaking them in a bleach carpet cleaner mix in a tank big enough to submerg a whole seat. then cooking them in a curing booth so we didn't have to reupolster them again… it worked.. it was a total living hell that i never want to repeat again.

This loaded and rare '76 CE is desirable enough to merit what you suggest to rehabilitate it, but a further price reduction on the front end (by about half to $2000 or so) would be needed to make that worthwhile. Just IMHO. What you describe is a major undertaking.

The mold is one thing, you can see it and if you are prepared to deal with it, it can be done, but this had major rust issues all along the roof line as well and you would also need to be confident that this was not the final resting place for a half tub of bondo either. It really would need a complete inspection in person to see if this area has been treated properly as well.
