He can google "obsolete GM parts" for suppliers of OEM salvage parts.

BTW, that did otherwise turn out very well done! I'd love to see it in person!

How are the black rubber bumper stips held on? I've got a 77 cp and would like to put them on also.

I contacted Mike about the progress. Here is his report. :thumbs2:

Hey, mate great to hear from you. Last stages now I hope! and i gave to add that I have had one hell of a journey with this car that’s for sure. When I bought it as you know, I decided to leave it in Ca so it could be painted, which took forever however since then I had the trim refurbished and the wood put back on which took another year, and after that through meeting with other Aussie’s in the US, I formed a net work of guys that could help me further and one of the benefits was being touch with a trim shop so I decided to have the trim bought up to new as well. Since all of this happened though, our Government here in Australia in 2017, put a ban on the import of asbestos which as you can appreciate was in everything from brakes to clutches to sound deadening in theses cars from those years. Fortunately I have been in touch with a shipping company that can work this through be removing the brakes (the main offender) and working with customs I hope. It is in the shippers yard in Carson at the moment awaiting assignment for a ship so I should see it (finally) in a couple of months perhaps.

I am sorry I have not been active on station wagon forums as I paid out a large partnership and have taken over by my self the company I was a partner in over the past 20 years and I have absolutely been incredibly busy. I have not worked this hard for 15 years! I expect things to settle over the next year freeing me up to do the things I like to do like be apart of the sw forums again!

Here are a couple of pics of the interior after the re-trim, cheers Mike

Great news! Should be on the boat soon!
Looks like the restoration place in Riverside is also working on a 1958 Pontiac Star Chief Custom Safari wagon........

Looks like it might be identical to the wagon in the '58 brochure:

The Premier was last in contact with the Forum in Jan. 2020.
