And yes...the red has a very small rust spot coming through just behind the drivers side front wheel under the wood grain. No easy fix but seeing photos of the car outside I would replace the wood grain anyway so the repair would then not be a problem. Paint isn’t perfect but let’s face it...GM paint from the 70’’s...it wasn’t when new. I would leave the original paint.

 

That is passenger side - and with rust, you can always bet the worst is not visible from the outside.

 

You are correct...my memory must be failing me.

 

A car restoration guy that I know always says rust is like a glacier. 90% of it is below surface.
