Weatherstripping for the doors came in last week, along with a new antenna, doorlocks, some bump rubbers, hardwarekit for all the trim.
Still waiting for my new heatercore to come in…..
enough typing, time for some pics..

Looks like you have made a lot of progress, and it is turning out well. Let us know how well the replacement door gaskets fit. The gaskets are the same from 1961 to 1964 based on my memory. Thanks Junk..

    ...back from sickness and hope...

, Hi guys and gals, as you noticed it has been a while sins my last visit.
At the end of the summer(2011) when i was still working on my '64 wagon, my wife(34) was diagnosed lung cancer……
that wasn;t what we wanted to hear but it was what it was and we just had to go with the program….
Long story short……The treatment wasn't a vacation, but a couple of chemo's and 41 radio treatments (irradiated), tons of scans(mri, pet, ct), pints of blood, tons of medication and the light is gettin' brighter
Her treatment is successful so far and we are slowly picking up the normal routines again…..
So i guess you get the picture how i wasn't very much motivated to work on the wagon. ( like i had the time to do stuff….:slap:)
Now i have been making up some time and also decided to go body-off (it was needed to fix the rust-damage on the underside…
As my buddy was doing some cutting on the body, i gave the frame a good treatment…Removed all the rust, welded a few spots…. It now sits with a new coat of FROST ChassisPaint.
Back to the body………there's more to weld on this than i first anticipated, but no time to think, grab the grinder, the hammer and dolly, the sheet metal and the new welding-machine i got for x-mass, and go….
A few days of welding and tacking i sealed it all up and last friday we had a wedding…..
The body sits on it's frame again :thumbs2:(new body mounts and all..)
I know you all cant wait to see pics, so here's the link to my photo-bucket for you to check-out.
    I hope you enjoy them…
Anyway, i am going to build up the rest of the wagon so i can get it registered and i'll post the updates…
    …………………………………………………………………………………………………………………………….
For all you people that want to send my wife a thumbsup, pm me for her email… thx

(still looking for a tailgate-handle for my '64)

Wow! That is really impressive Paul! Welcome to the forum, thanks for sharing details of your wagon's restoration. Does that old Sanyo 8 track still work? Best wishes to you and your wife for her recovery. :Welcome: (definitely a :camera::camera::camera::camera::camera:rating for pics btw).

    Thx MotoMike,
the 8-track i found in my dash, i took it out gave it a clean and i put it back in the wagon, hoping that it will go when everything is connected again….

Just in case it doesn't work, i have 2 other 8-track players laying around, but i prefer the sanyo 'cause it has a radio to, the others are "just" players.
Sins i haven't any tapes i can listen to the radio…..;) (just don't want anything modern in my dash)

This morning i started to put in the pieces i'll need for my airride..
The giant space were the spare originally sits was my starting point, so i mounted the compressor in first, made a wooden shell to put the airtank in that same space and voila…..it's all hidden:2_thumbs_up_-_anima

    The crank/key….(power)
Before i removed all the parts i tested the tailgate window with the original dash-swith, and everything seems to work just fine, the only problem is that hole in my tailgate:)

I believe that I have a spare power tailgate piece but not sure if I have the key to go with it. I believe they are common for multiple years for 64 and after. I will chech and let you know.

as i have posted in a different thread, i have converted the wagon to propane only, all the fuel related stuff is gone!
Had the first run on monday, but location for the vaporizer was to high (it needs to sit lower than the highest point from your radiator) so after running for a few minutes it started to freeze up.
I changed the set-up on tuesday (making new brackets, rerouting the heater hoses, making a new copper gas-line) and left it alone to borrow a propane-sniffer and charge the battery.
Wednesday we had the doctor and the hospital on the agenda, and this morning i sniffed the hole gas-line, vaporizer and mixer for leaks……..there were none:thumbs2:
So it was time to let the wagon run………….last time i heard it, was more than 6 months ago:taz:
1 flick of the key and VROOOOOAAM…….see and listen:cheers:

    wonderful world of wipers

    Had a wiper issue on the wagon…..(they didn't work:banghead3:)
Had 2 spare motors on the shelf, changed out some bits and got my own working again..
    ……………………………………………………………………………………………………………………………….[IMG]

Had to connect the wiring in a different way(some old cables were bad)

The only problem now is that the wipers stop half way across the windshield when it goes into park……..when i turn the wiper switch on, they first go down, and then they make their cycle, when i turn the wiper switch of, they come up untill halfway across the windshield and park again…..
Like this…. (sorry for the dark pic)
This is not the way to park the wipers like i had in mind…but looking across the internet gave me the solution , i think.
Monday i'll have to disconnect the linkage from the motor, turn the rod that bolts to the motor, 180 degrees and connect it all back again and the problem should be solved…
(motor only turns in 1 direction, so in my theories it should work)
    …………………………………………………………………………………………………………………………….

Has anyone else had issues like this?? i wonder:lolup:
