I just picked up a 40k mile, all original 63 Pontiac Catalina Safari wagon, that will soon be making the journey from it's home in TX to my home in AK. I am going to be looking for a few miscellaneous parts, and am anxious to learn as much as I can about these cars! There are some great looking wagons on here!
aboard! That is a cool Pontiac. Are you planning to drive it back up to Alaska...or trailer it? Looks like a good find. Keep us up to date on your journey. Good luck!
to SWF AK. That is a fine Pontiac you've there. Are you having your wagon transported? how is it geting to Alaska? When I was looking for info on my Pontiac I requested info from vintagevehicleservices.com I spoke ti George Zapora at george.zapora@cc.gm.ca. All I had to do was supply the vin # and they send back everything you would want to know about your wagon from where it was built all the specifications. However I believe this is for Canadian built Pontiacs, I'm not sure if they are able to provide info for US built cars. But they may know who you can contact. Good luck with your search I hope this is helpful.
I could be wrong ( which I am NOT) But the car in pic is a 1962 Poncho.... Not a '67 .... A very cool looking '63 tho ...
I'm having a transport service bring it up here. It's been sitting too long for me to trust it on a 4700 mile road trip.
Yeah, I kinda thought so. You certainly made the right choice. I knew that front end looked like a '63. I took my road test in a '63 convertible. Good luck once again.
Probably from being among all of us highly sophisticated intellegant station wagon members you got nervous!
Welcome mate! That's a sweet ride. All the best for the move, look forward to seeing some pics when it's back on the road.
Well, ol' Poncho arrived in Alaska this week. I will start digging in to this thing over the winter and get a build thread going. Drove it to get the mail last night, this thing is a straight pimp wagon..love it..
