So ok after using my wagon for a while I noticed that my blinkers don't work right. They'll start super fast like a strobe light then slow down to almost just a steady on. I honestly don't think this will pass my safety inspection and I've looked at rockauto for a blinker relay or switch of some sort does anyone know if this part will fix it? AIRTEX / WELLS Part # 1S4842
I also found this on napa part number NFLF12 It's a two prong relay which seems like what I'm looking for just still don't know what to look for cause my chilton's guide is pretty terrible at showing that stuff
Sounds more like a bad ground. Try the Hazard light switch and see if it works right. Same circuits to the high watt filaments. You might try a trailer shop for the flashers.
nevermind just went outside found the two prong thing unplugged it tried the blinkers and found out what I needed
Lol thanks I almost feel dumb for posting all that and finding it out for myself oh well maybe it'll help someone out later...
Yeah I think it could be your flasher. If you have the car insured take it to the parts store. They mite let you take the flasher out to the car to see if thats the problem. It is a dirt cheap part, but still a drag to buy if theres more to the problem. Do you have another car that you could swap flashers to test? I'm fairly sure they are almost a univesal piece, I have a small box full of them from several cars....I think(?) there all the same.
Oh well when I took the relay out I tried the blinker and it didn't even turn on. I don't have another car to try but napa carries the part for like ten dollars so I'll just get it might as well.
lol Just don't have to do anything right now... Actually since you guys are here the wagon stalls/starves then gets right back up could this be a fuel pump or fuel filter?
Ok um... I'll look into it then I just replaced the air filter and yeah it was black bleh. I got a fuel filter so I'll let you know when I replace it.
My Dad's 87 T-Bird has a similar problem and it was the fuil pump.....Ford had a great design in having a fuil pump in a soup can under the drivers rear floor If I remember the exact location. What I do remember though it was always in the line of rire when it came to road debris hitting it, it eventually rusted etc, etc. New Pump cured every thing. But, I'm just throwing a idea out on this one.
The newer wagons have those too?!?! Crap. Bad enough that you need them with a Turbo engine, but on a V8? Oh, right - EFI systems. Calm down Normie, down boy.
