Surprisingly well optioned for a Catalina - including A/C, P/W, P/Locks, AM/FM stereo, digital clock, cruise, factory gauges and economy meter. http://www.ebay.com/itm/1980-Pontiac-Catalina-Safari-wagon-/171806810486?_trksid=p2054897.l4275
His starting bid of $3200 is the minimum he will take for the car. That seems to be a pretty good price for this car, which does look very nice.
Does seem like a decent price for a nice car, I like the interior on this one. Maybee I should have looked for a 80-81 Catalina. But an engine swap would be required. But parts would be easier to find than for my 78.
I'm not so sure on that, Jeff. I really don't see any 80/81's around at all. Then again, I don't see any '77-'79's, either. The seats in this one are virtually identical to the seats I have, except for the material itself. I have the same ribbed bolsters at the front of the bottom cushion, etc.
Yeah, I see many more '77-78 cars than I ever see '80-81 cars. The interiors all interchange but the front sheet metal is all special and unique in those years. This particular car is extremely nice and I'd love to have it. Dropping a 350-400 would be quite straightforward since it already has a 301 in it. For $3800 I'd be tempted to go ahead and pick it up if I didn't already have too many cars.
I am speaking of new parts, I am trying very unsuccessfully to find the window channel for my 78. Some one must have used a coat hanger to open the drivers door at some time and destroyed the channel. If it were an 80-90 I could buy it new, but it looks like I will have to find good used for the 78. I don't hold much hope for that. It can be frustrating.
