Not my car, just surfing. The ad doesn't mention if bungee cords are supplied to keep the rear doors shut. http://washingtondc.craigslist.org/nva/cto/3354646505.html This is a classic-look station wagon with four doors that has been in my family since 1988 and still has under 140,000 actual miles on it (I am second owner since new). The motor is the economical and dependable slant-six and the automatic transmission is the 904 3-speed with overdrive. The motor uses no oil and is smooth and powerful. The transmission was gone through several years ago to replace a defective reverse band. The major needs of this vehicle are cosmetic -- the usual chips in the paint and several small dents and dings. No major dents and no Bondo or other repairs from accidents during my ownership. There is virtually no rust other than the front floor pans that are beginning to get thin from a leaky windshield. Body panels are almost totally free of even surface rust. The entire undersurface was apparently undercoated (Zeebart process) shortly after purchase by the original owner and this prevented the frequent winter road salt of this area from forming the usual heavy rust there. The windshield does have a major crack and will need replacing and the front seat (driver's side only) needs repair and is covered now with a slip cover. Tires are good high tread (whitewalls turned to inside) and all the safety features work properly. If you have thought about an inexpensive "classic car," and station wagons turn you on, this may be what you have been looking for. It could be an excellent basis for serious restoration or simply freshen up components for a unique weekend driver. But, please note that while this car is sound and road-worthy, it would not be a good choice for commuting at the speeds demanded on beltway and Interstate by fellow commuters. Also, such usage would require registration as a "regular" vehicle, not the special antique status it qualifies for now, which does not require safety or emissions inspections but does preclude every day usage such as commuting.
