The 1975 T & C Brougham was ugly! But oh so comfy! I thought they were cute when these Lebarons came out.

Have you ever sat in 1957-58 Imperial Lebaron? Those were luxury cars. The only Caddy more luxurious was a 1958 with Air Bag suspension. My dad had both a 1957 and the 1958 Lebaron had a 'Porcelainized' never-wax finish. These cars had the largest instrument layout ever - 2 9 inch diam. deep-dish bezels each with 4 circumference dials, and guages with idiot lights to flag things like temp or oil besides the guage measure, and purple backlighting for the gauges.

But the shocker was on the turnpikes. Here's this monstrous 5,300 lb., 20' beast with a 392 hemi just floating along, and some guy in a Camaro comes along and tries to get some action going. You tap the pedal and he's watching you burn rubber because the tires are smokin'! Dad used to tease the 'vettes into a little turnpike race. He'd cruise at 95 MPH and floor it and the car would just squeal rubber for a second, grab and gone! 'vettes in the rear-view mirror - dad's favourite view of a 'vette. He hated that fat rearend!

I kind of like that wood molding treatment on the 1979 Lebaron wagon though. It looks like a real woodie with the extra horizontal bar.

I'm anxiously awaiting mine! I preordered the 1:24 and 1:60 versions.

This is a holy grail to me, as my family (when I was little) had a 1978 T&C, green exterior and green vinyl interior. If only there was a green 1:24!

Any idea when this will come out?

There is a tan one forsale on ebay. Bidding is over $41 already.

The seller is one of those big diecast distributors.

This is bullsh*t. Why drive the price up?

Just wait a little longer for them to reach the stores and we'll all get them for the normal motormax pricing.

    -----------------------------------------------------

    UPDATE!

    It sold for $142.50 !!!!

See for yourself. Ebay closed auction: Item number: 320208302079

    http://cgi.ebay.com/1-24-79-Chrysle...goryZ223QQssPageNameZWDVWQQrdZ1QQcmdZViewItem

You will need to log onto ebay to see a closed auction.

I preordered 2 of these 1:24 Lebaron wagons (one burgundy, the other white), from DiecastAuto.com http://www.diecastauto.com

I preordered the burgundy one on Dec. 12, and the white one yesterday (Jan. 19).

    I hope these come soon!

I'm wondering...Where did the eBay sellers get theirs?? The stores (like DiecastAuto.com) haven't released theirs yet, so what gives?
