Interestingly Optioned car, Base Model Firebird, with a SBC 305 V8, 4-speed manual trans, gauge package with clock, Rally 2 wheels, power brakes, & AM/FM Stereo Radio. But no A/C. It Still has the original Spiral shocks, & bead type CC. Many more pic's on the ad.

Like this "stripper". It is equipped the way most of the cars I, and my friends , had back in the 60s. A/c was more common by the 70s, but a guy's budget usually went to performance. In fact, it was not uncommon for a v8 car to have a 3 spd on the floor.

I agree. It's not a fire breathing monster. Just a cool looking, cool sounding, row your own gears classic. I think it's perfect.

Pretty much your basic driver car. Too bad about the 305, but I believe it was the only v8 engine you could get in 1978 outside of the Formula or Trans Am that had more choices.

I'd still love to drive one of these daily. I miss my '77.

I am at a place in my life where that's what I want. I want whatever I have to be a basic driver. Not so nice that I'm scared to leave it in a parking lot, not so powerful that I'm tempted to drive like a maniac. Just sound good, look good and be comfortable. :thumbs2:

I should be a good driver, and could sound good with a mild exhaust upgrade and a high flow Cat. I posted it as I thought it could be a very nice driver. The Saginaw 4-speed isn't great, but I have one in my 67 Firebird and they are OK as long as you don't beat on them.
I would even drive this one, and I don't normally like Black Cars. But as I get older I like originality, That way I don't have to correct previous owners "improvements"!
Also not many base model Firebirds seem to have survived, alot of T/A's, some Formula's & Esprit's, but just base model Firebirds seem to be scarce.
