I remember seeing this ad months ago (possibly a year ago?) when the owner was asking $6500. Now it's down to $4k o.b.o. Looks like an amazing car.

I don't know if it is something wrong with my computer, or something with Craigslist, but lately a lot of the pics on there will not enlarge and they are all small. Anyone else experiencing this?

He's on the right track! :)

The Old Cars Price Guide totally disrespects these cars and puts the value of a '78 Aspen wagon in showroom condition at $2800. The next level down, "car show" condition, is $1600. This car may be in great shape, and there may not be many of them around, but it also needs to be desirable, and few people want one of these.

From my experience on this site, people ooh and aah all day long over any wagon that's in nice shape, but most wagon-wanting people seem to gravitate toward the full-size models. These intermediate, more-or-less plain-Jane station wagons from this era, like Ford Fairmonts and Dodge Aspens, have no following to speak of.

Of course he may get lucky and find someone who will pay him that much, but given the experience we've seen in another thread on this site with the '74 Ford Pinto wagon that's in very nice shape but has not attracted even one bid in five ebay auctions with the starting bid set a $4K, I would say he will have to continue to lower his price to attract a buyer.

Jaunty, this was the compact wagon! Aside from the 318, it looks to be a pretty basic model, and that means penalty box on wheels. It does not Eben have the one up exterior trim, never mind the SE package exterior. I think the interior is just as basic. No matter how wonderful the car, unless you plan to show it or modify it, this is not a pleasant car to drive long distance. Having driven thousands of miles in am equally basic Dodge Dart, I speak from experience.

Does the pics show up very small on everyone else's ad?

I am wondering if Craigslist has changed something, or if there is something wrong with my computer. Almost all of the ads now on my Craigslist will not enlarge. Thanks.

I've driven by this car when we've gone tubing down the Guadalupe river. This is about an hour from me. I remember seeing it, but had no idea the miles were that low.
