This isn't my car, just posting an ad I found on Kijiji. http://bc.kijiji.ca/c-cars-vehicles...orino-Squire-station-wagon-W0QQAdIdZ464767719 I have a soft spot for the 75 Gran Torino Squire as my dad had one when I was a kid. This one doesn't look too, too bad, other than for the weird lights on the roof rack. The interior doesn't look too bad either, minus a couple of tears. ------------------------ 1975 Ford Gran Torino Squire station wagon, 400m engine 3 speed auto trans. Looks like a pretty nice Torino. The asking price seems reasonable. That looks like the Brougham interior, but it is vinyl rather than leather. Needs some more photos . Cannot tell if it has power windows which would add to its appeal (at least to me).
I think it does have A/C. Look at the lower right hand corner of this photo. They look like an A/C compressor and belt to me. What are even more interesting are the gauges mounted on the firewall in the upper left hand corner.
Sorry, no A/C. The compressor would be mounted in the middle, top, of the engine, in front of the distributor. No cruise, either. Does look solid over all. There is something about the stance that makes me a bit uneasy about this one. I would want to go over it thoroughly.
I'm thinking this will be a local sale, thats a long drive to view it....... Beautiful part of the world though. http://maps.google.ca/maps?hl=en&rl...a&sa=X&ei=yixDUdzrFYifrAH5roD4CA&ved=0CHoQtgM
Yeah, I started noticing that trend a few years ago. One interesting wagon I remember was a 1972 Kingswood Estate that was loaded with everything except A/C! Then I started seeing a few cars like the 70s Electras and other big luxury cars without A/C and the trend was that they were either Canadian cars, or from the northern United States. Most of the cars down here in the southern USA had the A/C option. We all know it can still get hot up north and in Canada, I guess its where it was short-lived ( the heat ) that many chose not to get A/C. I think these days though its hotter than it was 30-40 years ago. On the flip side, most of the northern cars you see with the rear window defog or defrost option, those were the options rare on the southern cars back then. I thought so too at first, but also if you look closely at the enlarged pic of the instrument panel, you can see the only selection is "off / heat / defrost", then as Mike mentioned where the compressor should be seems void on this one. Agreed.
