    Am I missing something? Can someone explain to me why I would shell out $25,000 for a car with said issues? Or is it a typo where the seller added one to many zeros....

    Yup, one too many zeros, one case of "Price Delusion."
    I can see $6K if loaded, $3.5K if not. If it were in the best shape, lowest mileage, all maintenance records and ran like a top, half of what he's asking would be the max worth.
