This is NOT mine. No title, but I would think it might be worth at least trying to track down and obtain a copy of the title. Says 68 but it looks like a 72 to me.

I agree, with no title it is a $500-$1000 car. Probably worth X2 the asking price if it had a title and condition is as good as it looks.

To replace a lost title in Florida:

    • Complete an Application for Duplicate/Lost in Transit/Reassignment for a Motor Vehicle Title Certificate (Form HSMV 82101).
    • Provide proof of your identity.
    • Provide the odometer disclosure and any lienholder info.
    • Pay the $75.25 title fee (electronic title for previously FL registered vehicles).
    • Mail or return your documents to the Florida DHSMV.
    • For more details on replacing a lost title, please see below.
If you are selling a vehicle or using it as collateral on a loan, you'll need to produce a title to prove clear ownership. Your title is an important document, but it can be easy to misplace. Ordering a duplicate title allows you to replace the one that was lost or destroyed.

Replacement vehicle titles in Florida are processed by county tax collectors.

Continue reading this page for the process of applying for a duplicate Florida vehicle title.

Geez, that sounds easy enough. If selling the car with the title meant making an extra $2k on the sale I think ... I might ... just maybe ... apply for a replacement title. :slap:

On the other hand, the seller says "WE GOT THIS CAR FROM FLORIDA". So maybe it's stolen. Which would explain the lost title. :p

If the car looks as good as shown in the one pic, I'd think it's well worth $3k with the title.

Side topic: I was walking down the street in New Orleans in the late '80s when a street kid points at my shoes and says to me: "Betcha a dollar I can tell you where you got those shoes". I told the kid I didn't bet. The answer was, of course, "You got'em on your feet!"

Maybe that was old even in the '80s but I haven't heard it anywhere since then.

Not that easy in Pa man. t's doable but it will take time not a whole lot of money, but if it is hot your screwed.
If the owner is dead have fun getting a replacement. Don't see how unless your the OWNER of the car you could apply for anything that does not belong to you in any state. BUT some states are different. IF you can contact the owner and they can do that kudo's to ya. OR they could say sure no prob for 1000 i'll do it. Hard to say really

29 years later, 15 year-old kid, add a few years aging due to hard living ... that's about right. Probably made a pretty good living over the years.

Not long ago I got four Florida lost titles replaced. I'm thinking more like $100 each at the local DMV. Moved to Illinois and found the originals and the replacement titles among my crap!:slap:

Then I went to have my late model Impala transfered to Illinois so I could get tag and insurance. That one had an electronic title. Don't ever do that if you plan on moving to another state!
I was able to call, write, and email Florida DHSMV. Had to buy a paper Florida title, wait till it was mailed to my Illinois house, then transfer that to an Illinois title.

It ws worth the wait because after Jan 1st Illinois changed to a new nicer looking license plate, front and rear. Have you ever tried to mount a front tag on a car without a license bracket?

Met a 35 year old kid on Bourbon Street New Orleans who pulled a knife and made me give him my shoes, jeans, and undershorts! Had to beg on a corner to get money to buy clothes.:beaten:
