Cool car! Looks like it is still fairly solid... unless the underside is rotted out.

I see the "Brougham" script on the rear panel... was the Brougham trim optional on these?

^^^That example is a one-of-one, with a sunroof and many more options.

No, I'm pretty sure it had power windows, locks, seat, sunroof, police 140 mph speedo, spotlight, AM/FM with the floor mounted cassette recorder/player, 15" Road Wheels, 440, and much more

Hmm, the Chief must have had reason to pass on the power windows and roof rack, looks like he checked off every other option available?

The one in the original ad, with the Brougham( I pronounce if brog-ham by the way), wonder what all options it came with?

Supposedly the Fire Chief didn't believe the power windows were 'safe' in the event the wagon flipped over under water.

Funny story on the 'Brog-ham' issue:

Around 1978, in my job as a claims adjuster, I was taking a report from a lady on the theft of her Cadillac. In discussing the vehicle, I said, "So you have a 1976 Cadillac Fleetwood Brougham (pronouncing it all in one syllable 'Brom'). She immediately shouted out, "What choo mean? I ain't got no 'Brom'! My car's a Bro-ham!"

This is near me, so I just talked to the guy who has it for sale. In case anyone is interested, he says it was an old lady car--straight and solid body, just a couple small rust holes in the spare tire well and maybe on the rear quarters. The transmission was rebuilt not too long before the car was parked. It has the 400 engine. The man who owned the car passed away and the widow gave it to her son who sold the car by bill of sale to its present owner... or something like that. Anyway, obtaining a title is not out of the question and if you promise to keep it out of the junkyard he'll sell for $800.

Thanks. Now I won't be able to see Brougham, without saying Bro-ham in my head.

This super rare 1972 Plymouth Fury Sport Suburban Brougham wagon is still for sale! ;)

More pics (especially interior) would help a lot as to whether it might still be savable to restore!

Prediction: There'll never be another chance to snag even a restorable project car condition '72 Sport Suburban for anywhere near this price.

This would make a great companion for my '72 T&C. There's just no way I can swing another car right now. Come on, lottery.

Sure, agreed. :yup: A very rare 1970s Plymouth Fury Sport Suburban Brougham wagon of this sort will never again be available at a bargain basement price like this! :disagree:
