1968 Buick Sport Wagon for sale by owner - Thousand Palms, CA - craigslist I love this car. Great original survivor at a good price. Wish I had the money, I'd buy it in a heartbeat...........
This really seems like a decent price for a wagon that seems to be in pretty good shape. Has spent all its life in So Cal. Ad mentions it was sold new at Irv White Buick. I remember that dealer - on La Brea Bl, IIRC......
It's a very fair price and appears to be in good shape with relatively low miles. I wish it were mine.
It seems like it has been solely owned by perhaps only one serious owner and stored in a garage for decades, giving plausibility to the milage given. Besides urgent flushing of all fluids, except maybe for the transmission, the only immediate visible flaws to contend with are the following underhood electrical butcherings, likely to have been performed as a novice's attempt at process of elimination of some sort
The ad says "runs and drives great" so I believe that implies that the car hasn't been immobile for years......Perhaps the owner has been taking care of it and has been driving it around just enough to keep the fluids from drying out. I would LOVE to see the car but I don't have the money, hell, if I did I'd have Paul and his buddy drive me to the desert RIGHT NOW to check it out. Nicer than that 8500-dollar 77 green Volare I was pining for before (I think that finally sold, it's no longer listed).
It looks very nice and it's a very good price. Listings like this don't come around often. I see very few wagons of this era (late'60's-1970's) on the road. Aaah, can't take my mind off of it!
Eyes either It's also a matter of taste. Not everyone was thrilled about that rear quarter panel and swooping down side molding. I used to enjoy seeing that design, when I was a younger kid, though. My dad brought home a brand new 4-door sedan '67 F-85 and I wondered as to why he didn't opt for a wagon, even a flat-top one, since we were a a family of five and he would haul around lumber and bags of cement, now and then. I guess, he probably didn't choose a Buick, because of that rough-running V-6. Both his new cars were 6-bangers and had to be. Despite being a really good car, I would have preferred that he had brought home one of these instead
