Hello all, new to this thread, I am working on this car for my buddy Klause. We are taking a wagon in pretty good shape and turning it into a daily driver for his company car. I have really enjoyed checking out all the other builds and have gotten some great info! So thanks to all and I'm looking forward to your input and suggeations!

Man! That sat for awhile! Did you see that magazine cover with E.T. on the front?

Looks like a great start, looking past the rubble! Good luck with it.(y)

With this project I have really been focusing on getting the undercarriage rebuilt, all new bushings, suspension, disc brakes...etc. I admire the full off restorations bringing the wagons back to original condition, however in this case I want to upgrade everything to make it a great daily driver...

It's still a popular wagon style, even today. I like your plan. :thumbs2:

    It's got a separate frame doesn't it?

It does have a separate frame and I have flirted with the idea of lifting the body off to redo the under carriage that is rusting a bit and ease with suspension mods...so far I'm on a creeper pressure washing and scraping the old under coating off to spray more...

Took some aircraft stripper to the drivers side fender today, lots of bondo...anyone know of good repop fenders? Time is money, it is workable just trying to weigh it up... Thanks, Adam

One of the best things about these projects is seeing what has happened to a car in the past and seeing how the generations have handled the repairs. I found the front fenders in pretty rough shape and my hope is to work the metal that is there. I'm roughing in the fenders and fitting the headlight trim before I hand it over to a friend of mine with over 30 years experience to pick and file the panels, my hope " no bondo no excuses"
