After many hours, the car emerged from the garage... the interior had been finished... the new paint had finally dried... a celebration was due. BUT a night out in Las Vegas, as we were parked in a hotel garage, the right rear was smashed and slid over into the car next to us and damaged the left rear too. BOO HOO. But it was off to the repair shop and the dings were taken out. But I did cry at the time. Thanks for reading my sob story.

Nice looking Falcon! A 170cid or 200cid car? Options?

It's a 200 ci... Futura model. The front seat is out of a Chevy, but I like it cause it has a fold down arm rest. I put in a better radio system, too, but have tried to keep everything else I could orginal. Oh yeah... the gas tank was a bugger. They don't seem to make them for the station wagon model, so we had to jerry-rig a Falcon tank and put it in upside down, just so the filler hole was on the right side. UUGGHH.

Cool, those later 200cid engines have 7 main bearings, bet it'll run forever. That's Futura badging on the front fender in the pic isn't it?

I got the dents taken out, but have yet to locate a rear bumper and will have to replace the right rear taillight assembly AND the F A L C O N emblem on the rear quarter panel. Luckily I still had some leftover paint from the recent paint job and it should look as if nothing happened. Here's a few shots taken while restoring.

    Parts found for Falcon

After searching around, I found a used bumper in N. Cal., the rear tailight and lens from a catalog, also the emblem had to be bought. With a little left over paint, it should look as good as before. And yes , that is a Futura badging on the front fender.

OK let me talk about anouther issue I've had. Whe I got the car the gas tank was leaking. I took it off to repair and found it was installed Up-side down. It was too far gone to repair,so looked for replacement.. NO CAN find. I had to fabricate a filler hose and the sending unit is still up-side down on the new one I got. My gas gauge reads backwards now. What's the scoop here ? Has anybody had this problem before ?
