Am a big fan of the Falcons but $17,500 ? Don't know about that. https://www.hemmings.com/classified...aily&utm_medium=email&utm_campaign=2021-03-07
Priced for Hemmings. To me that is a real nice $10k car tops. Of course if playing the price is right on some of these cars lately, I'm out of touch with prices.,
Shoulda kept the one our family had - red '63 4-door Futura, red interior, too. Step-mom bought it before meeting my dad.... Dad was a Chevy guy at that time, so for a while we had 'competing' cars in the driveway - the '63 Falcon and dad's '63 Nova 2-door. Dad finally became a Ford man for the 1969 model year......
Watching Andy Griffith last night, and a visiting pastor was driving the same car (I think) , may have been a Comet came a went pretty fast.
It's straight and all, but it's a sixer and it's a post car (despite the description saying it's a hardtop). Doesn't even look like they bothered to clean the engine compartment. I love 63 Falcons, we have a Ranchero, but I'm just not seeing $17,500 for this.
Nothing that would take your breath away...... After two wagons ('65 Nova and '66 Caprice Custom), and with the youngest of 6 kids now 12, and at least a couple out of the house, they decided they didn't need a wagon anymore. Bought a pretty bare-bones new '69 Galaxie 500 hardtop...... Only power steering and brakes, AM only radio, no tilt, no cruise. Had the 390 V8 though (although it was probably a 2-barrel). I remember driving it once or twice. Seemed like the connection between the steering wheel and the tires was very loose. No steering 'feel'. Looked identical to this:
for $3k more than this one you could get a convertible. Sold for $20k https://bringatrailer.com/listing/1964-ford-falcon-convertible-9/
We had an Artesian Turquoise’66 Caprice wagon. I really loved that car. Dad went with an Impala wagon in ‘68. I really liked those ‘66 wagons.
Here's the ONLY pic I have of our Caprice Custom. It was pretty much devoid of options - no A/C, no stereo, no 3rd seat. Did have 327 4-barrel. When hauling all the kids, like going up to Lake Arrowhead on vacation, step-brother and I rode in the 'way-back' as cargo. Geez, you couldn't fork over another $100 for a third seat? Kid in the pic was some family friend's child my mom watched for a while.....
Can I relate to that. May be a family thing. My parents took very few photos of the family cars and more often than not there are no photos of a at least half of them. When Pam and I went to assemble a history book of our 87 Safari we found maybe 10 photos of it before it was repainted in 2004. However, since the repaint job in 2004 that Safari has been digitally photographed 100s of times.
That looks like it was Lemonwood yellow. Really pretty car. I’m assuming probably a black interior. Thanks for posting!
Yeah how times have changed. I probably have 10 times the photos of my car’s versus my family members. I somehow have a warmer feeling looking at more of the cars than more of the family sometimes lol. I actually love my family. The cars are more photogenic.
