    Cylinder Heads

Been a while since I posted. Holidays and an injury to my knee have made me unmotivated. Not to mention all the snow and freezing COLD!!

Any way here are the cylinder heads cleaned magged and milled.

I will have more pictures soon. Got the heads on and started to install and adjust the valvetrain. Might have to wait for spring to paint the heads.. More to come..

looking good....here is a pic of the 74 Pontiac 400 I rebuilt for my 76 T/A (pretty much a stock motor, and will get away from me in a heartbeat)...wasn't too sure about the 76 Pontiac Blue, but after painting it, I love it lol....I also love seeing other people using a Pontiac torque monster and not going the cheaper way of using a SBC (no offense to the ones who do, I had one in my T/A for about a year) lol.....keep up the good work.

While the engine is out, I swapped that old single MC for a new dual one. This is a must for such a heavy car. I really never liked the idea of loosing ALL of the brakes if one line goes down.

Two words, 67temp.....Nice Job!:thumbs2: Your enthusiasm, hard work and tenacity is paying off big time. In all my years messing with cars, I must admit that, I don't remember anyone painting an engine block white. Never saw anyone paint a valley cover either and don't understand the rationale for that, although, I have read about special paints for that use. Bottom line is, that designer look engine in those colors looks great in that clean engine bay! Very creative. I admired your enthusiasm from the first day you joined us here at the wagon family and I am happy to see that you still have it. Your car has benefited from that enthusiasm. And thanks for letting us follow your build in this thread.:D

THANKS!!!! You are too kind. We shall see.. I got the long block for 50$ because my budget is SUPER tight!! I have a few more pieces to install then fire it up!! I will shoot a video and post the link.

I cant take the credit for the color choice. I was going to go straight Pontiac Blue for that year. My brother said white would look hot. Now that the engine is in, I have to admit that it is way cool!!!

    THANKS AGAIN!!!

    Dave

So my smooth running 50$ engine has finally should its age with a rod knock.

    SO,
I will be trying to find a Pontiac shortblock to replace this one. Oh well. I knew that it was going to be a gamble. Sometimes you win, sometimes you loose. The heads I had redone, so they are good and all of the other stuff will cross right over to a new motor, so no worries.

    More to come,

    Dave
