Dear All: I have been working on my wagon since 2000 (the redo of the kitchen and a couple of films got in the way) and never come across this site so I'm thrilled and hoping for some help. I am looking for the left and right x 2 trims pieces for the trunk area that hold down the lid assembly in the back of my 58 wagon. It is a 49D model. Can anyone direct me to where I might find these parts as well as the trim pieces x 4 that hold the fabric to the main pillar posts? Cheers. Michael.

Whoa, buddy! Welcome to the forum!
I think you're the first here with one of those, Michael.
As to the parts, my off-the-top of-my-head suggestion would be to check wrecking yards in Arizona. Lots of well-preserved (except for paintand dashes) old Detroit iron down there.

Please post up some pics for us. I don't know my model #'s. Is that a hardtop model?

Thanks for the note. Yes, it is the hard-top version, no window pillars. It had been in a barn north of Edmonton from the mid 70s until I bought it. It's been an ordeal, but have learned a lot. I'll see if there are some pictures I can post. Any names of Arizona dealers that I can phone? Cheers. Michael.

    Hey Michael, Welcome!

You have one of the all-time amazing wagons ever!!!
All '58 Buicks are awesome, but the hardtop wagon is the coolest of them all.

I will keep an eye peeled for any of the parts you listed. (y)

    Glad you are with us!

    David :)

Welcome Michael. You have a neat and rare car. Restoring one of those would be a major exercise I'm sure. No wonder it took you so long to find this site, you were busy in the shop like I should be.

You need to post some pictures of what it is you need. I may know of a parts car in the southern part of Alberta.

Hey, Michael, you've got a pearl of the real Classics. :thumbs2:

You want some AZ sources, eh?

Try here, they recently merged 4 sites into this one, so try Parts, Cars, everything they have. Oh yeah, and welcome to wagon circle :Welcome: :

Did you go cruising the Ranchmen's Inn? The owners are good friends. You silver-tongued fox, you. :D

Of all the gin joints... :biglaugh:

Used to love it with real orange juice. Now, I drink almost everything straight up, no ice. :D

Haven't been there in years, but it was a YUPPY bar. 2 of them - Ranchmen's North and Ranchmen's South, in Calgary. Swanky. You felt like you were strolling the Ranch? mall in Vegas. Anyway, my boss's daughter was our GM in the Millwork company, and she, her hubby and her dad (my boss) were partners. Classy western hotspot. Her brother was recently named in our top wealthy list, but he's not the driver, she is. One sharp lady. Major construction and commercial millwork operations in Canada and the US.

The human Alberta I know would rip your heart out and stuff it in your mutilated face for even calling her Alberta. She goes by her middle name. Red Head. Nice lady actually, but hates her first name. We have a lot of fun with that when we are calling long distance but when we are visiting we pretty much stay away from that.

Now, back to the Buidk at hand. We need pictures of what it is you need.

Okay, just thought of something else about Alberta. While the southern part of the province does get snow, they also get the Chinook winds which gets rid of the snow rather rapidly. The can have temperature swings of 40+ degrees in a day. Of course that works both ways so you never ever go out in the warm weather this time of year without your parka.

Sure would like to see some pics of that '58 Buford.

    Barry
