Not a wagon and I'd prefer the chrome/tail lites to be stock but man this would be cool. It's in Ford Fellows (Hugh) home town, would'nt suprise me if he knew the owner. 429, 62 Falcon http://www.usedvictoria.com/classified-ad/1962-Ford-BIG-BLOCK-FALCON_13042083
I am really surprised the 429 fits in there. Could the owner have modified (or replaced) the aprons? Nice '62... Edit: Yeah - there's no shock towers. he's changed to a coil-over setup.
The next engine bay I do, I'm gonna do in a light colour with an acidproof or rubberized coating. You can see what you're doing, where the nut fell, or the needlenose pliers fell. I'll just do body paint color about 4" from the fender and down. That just looks so clean.
The next one....sheeze Norm, your never going to be done this one. Your wagon will end up in the Man and Nature Museum as a exhibit because even Ford never knew about the combinations that could happen.......if they knew, you know we would never have your wagon!
well., assuming a conservative redline of 5200rpm, a not too tall rear tire of 26", be right around 135mph,.upt to 144mph with 28" tires,. Nick
Shhh... Don't tell Ford, but they made them to last way past planned obsolescence. I got a brainwave for hideaway headlights and I'm pretty sure it'll work. I've got another grille to experiment with. The eggcrate pattern is large enough for the lights to be visible. I'm thinking to cut off the LH side and install it over the RH side to the curves match, and vice-versa on the RH side. I'll play with that later this week. There's even screw holes molded in the grille at the right locations. We'll see. I was installing the halogens back in and said "Wait a pea-pickin' minute! I wonder if the Zephyr Grille would work?" So I'll try with this Fairmont grille first, and see.
Norm, you have to find a 80-82 Fox T-Bird, it will have everything you want and I know you'd still make it look Fairmont. I have owned 3 of these Birds back in the day, ugly as sin but dam good cars.
