Finally found a wagon guys! It's a 1989 Mercury Colony Park that I bought from a guy for only $200! He originally put it for $440 but I was able to talk him down...lol not really he just felt bad that I had to tow it from Pittsburgh to D.C. I do feel like I saved a puppy from the pound he told me the low price was because his town was having a demo derby soon and he thought he would get someone from that group rather than a guy with a passion for wagons! All I had to do with it so far was fix the brake line to the rear and I mean all the way to the rear from the master cylinder to the tires lol. I ordered parts for the exhaust and sorry no dual just single right now for sake of leaving soon and not wanting to deal with custom fab work or expenses. The only thing I need for it though is the aluminum/tin molding that goes around the wood paneling like the LS versions have for I have the GS model so right now it's just a shade of gray. I will post up picks when I get to it; It's at my church right now waiting for parts and for insurance before i can drive it home...

Great job, Bowser. Congratulations. I know you're going to love it. Hey, if you find a place with moldings, let me know. I need the right front wheel lip and the little one under the left cornering lamp for my '87. Both of them have dents and it bothers me every time I see them.

Monongahela like right on the river. As for the moldings I have no idea where to even start to look for em. I'm going to try a junkyard; I'll be happy to just find some moldings and hammer em out.

I wonder if Ford wagons used the same trim, as well if other years would fit.

Congrats! The Colony Parks are a classy wagon!

Most of the Ford wood trim 79-91 is the same with the exception of the tailgate pieces and that they are covered in wood grain instead of chrome with the wood strip. If you find a couple of wagons with the trim, take what you can get so that you have spares, because the trim is very hard to find.

snooterbuckets- is this one of the trim pieces that you mentioned you needed? It is the one that goes on the drivers fender by the turn signal. I noticed it on ebay a couple of weeks ago, but it looks like the auction ended. You could see if he still has it since it did not sell.

Kinda figured Ford standardized. Mine shares trim from 1978 to at least 1982, 1983 to 1986 saw some changes. Should be something to cross-check and zero in on that.

Yea, Ford changed a couple of pieces on the fenders of the full sized wagons from 79-87 to the 88-91 style because of the header panel change. From 79-87 the header panel was the squared style, and then changed to a rounded style from 88-91 so the wood trim changed to match the header panel. Other than that, 90% remained the same.

Lol well I didn't know I grew up in D.C. but you're right with Ford Rich area... About a couple minutes away was the biggest Ford dealership I've ever seen! It was like on a huge hill where they displayed their vehicles all over it on like three levels. It was like the whole hill/mountain was dedicated to Ford...

Hey 84, thanks alot. Yes, that is the molding I'm in need of but my only question would be if the woodgrain on it matches what they had in '87. I'm not familiar with how to use ebay and I searched for that seller's email address but couldn't find it. Any idea how I could get in contact with him?
