    ...how these people are doing this. More importantly, I don't understand WHY they do it. I mean...I guess it's a bot, but, if you aren't going to post why bother?? I don't get it?

    I wonder if their 'bots' read these less than subtle barbs. It's like moms telling their kids to 'use your words', rather than act like idiotic snipers. They don't even have a goal.

    I doubt its a fully automated bot, I think its more along the lines of people running automated scripts and performing the steps that require manual intervention. People in poor countries do this to make a few pennies an hour to create such accounts to post spam, spam links in their profiles, etc.
