Hello everyone. First off I am in the U.S. Army and I am stationed in Germany, and I was crazy enough to bring my wagon with me, more on the wagon later but first more about me. I am 30 years old and I have been around cars my entire life, I started helping dad at the age of 8 and performed my first solo engine swap at 12. I am more versed in older V8 cars but I am slowly learning about the new fangled computer controlled stuff. I have been around station wagons my whole life, my Grandfather had a 1977 Caprice wagon, I learned to drive at the age of 12 in a 1956 Chevrolet Bel-Air wagon, My Dad had a 1979 Impala wagon while I was in high school, my wife drove a 1974 AMC Hornet wagon while we were in high school. I have personally owned a 1984 Dodge Aries wagon, 1987 Ford Taurus, and now my 1991 Buick Roadmaster. In short I love station wagons, and they are alive and well over here in Europe, and mine gets plenty of attention. I am looking forward to sharing the love of wagons here.
Thank you for the welcome. I have had some not so serious offers for my car but, if I do get a serious offer from a true wagon lover I will entertain it, I know the big American wagons go for serious money over here and I am not that attached to this particular wagon.
Baumholder... was there couple of times (medic patrol course) Not too far away from The Netherlands.... try to visit this country during summer: at least one US-car meeting every weekend A woody and portholes!!
Welcome Baumholder Glad to see another GM join us. Here is mine. I really like the Truck Rallies. http://i150.photobucket.com/albums/s102/old_tired_rebel/000_0038-2.jpg
Welcome to the forums. Must be fun to drive on the Autobahn with the M5 and RS4 wagons! We are holding a Virtual Wagon show, here is more info on participating.
Thanks for the warm welcome! It is fun to drive on the autobahn but, I can't hang with the Euro spec cars. GM set the speed limiter on the computer at 106 mph and that is almost slow here. It is nice to be able to cruise at 80-85 mph and still get decent mileage. I had to add portholes. It isn't a Buick without them.
you took the car??????.............NICE!!! ...that puts a whole new meaning behind.. ..."if I aint drivin...then I aint goin!!"
I'm quite jealous...I've always dreamed of going back to Germany. I was born in Wiesbaden and we lived in Konigstadten, Russelsheim (sp?). We left for Turkey when I was still itty-bitty (both parents in the Air Force). Got to the states when I was 2. I was just showing the kids the family pics from there. But, I want to see it for myself. Nice Roadmaster wagon...I had a 95 RM sedan for quite a while...I miss it. I'm looking for a RM wagon, hope to have one soon...just got to convince the better-half that it's a great idea. Even though I'm not a wagon-owner yet (and I stress "yet"), I've been warmly welcomed here...it's a great place. You'll like it. So, welcome to the forums...and thanks for what you're doing for us over there.
suddenly I remebered the username `Uberwagon': from impalassforum! I ended up there, cause somebody linked my wagon movie from youtube to that forum: http://www.impalassforum.com/vBulletin/showthread.php?t=189712
