Hey guys! just wanted to let you all know that I'm in the US air force well air force DEP (delayed enlistment program). I signed for a six year contract and probably going to do something in electronics. Also I'm interested in their special forces jobs and as of right now could qualify for cct but I know with maybe a week could go in as para rescue. After basic I will be a E3 private first class airman because of college credits and possibly be able to become officer if I get my degree...
Congratulations, Bowser, and my heartfelt gratitude goes to you for devoting yourself to defending our country and its principles against the terrorists and other enemies. You are to be commended, for sure. Godspeed to you.
Good to see a man with a plan. So many go into a profession with no idea of what they really want to do. Good for you and the US Airforce. Wave by, if you ever fly over central Canada to the Arctic or the US/Canada airbase in Alberta.
Got a friend's son who enlisted last year. He's in the Air Force Security unit. Boy looks good in his uniform.
Oh to update sill don't have a job but have been training and maybe in the next couple weeks could go in as a pj I recently swam the 500m in 9:05 which they need 10:40 to get in and ran the 1.5mi in 10:18 which they want 10:20 so I just need to work on a couple of things so that I can do those things so that others may live...
Well, well well..... Congratulations soon to be young Airman. I am an Air Force Security Policeman Veteran. I was in before you were born I'm sure, (1975-1979) but if you have any questions, maybe I can answer them for you. My first piece of advice would be to take one step at a time. Concentrate your efforts with basic training first, then tech school. Once you get your PCS orders, get some of your on the job experience in your pocket......take tests for your advanced levels, then think about Special Ops. I have a good friend who did 25 years Para Rescue. He's one bad dude. Again, congrats and THANK YOU for wanting to serve and choosing AIR FORCE!!
Oh....And I just noticed you live in D.C. AMAZING!! I was stationed at Bolling AFB Washington, D.C. I lived in Oxon Hill, (Temple Hills really) Md for a year after I got out, then West Springfield, Va. for years after that.
That was my AFSC....Security Police. They call it Security Forces now. I still have my Beret, Badge, Cuffs, Key, Patches, Ribbons, GC Medal, P-38....Heck....I still have my 1505s.
Congratulations Bowser! I was a military brat, myself...both parents were in the Air Force. I was born in Germany, moved to Turkey, then to the US (New Mexico and Arizona). Mom got out early. Dad retired when they told him his next assignment was in Okinawa, Japan...he'd had enough 'round the world travelin'. He retired as Senior Master Sergeant w/ 22 yrs in. I was going to follow in his footsteps, but he talked me into going to college, instead. I have the utmost respect for the military folks. So, my heartfelt thanks to you for serving our country. God bless and stay safe!
Lol Both my parents were in the Air Force as well and funny thing I was born in Landstuhl Germany while they were stationed there. My dad was let out after five years honorably because of a accident he got while water skiing and my mother retired Master Sergeant after Twenty years. So almost identical stories you and I...
Yeah I've lived here since I was four when my mother was moved from Germany to Andrews then to the Pentagon. My dad wanted to serve more but with the accident started working at sprint in the area while she was at the pentagon. I remember going there alot the big hallways or at least I remember they were big I remember a hallway with a downward slope to it and the guy just washed or polished it and I ran down and slid the whole thing on my knees and my mother got into trouble and i think that was the last time I went to the pentagon lolz.
