Our family grew up with ford station wagons. We had a 1964 Ford Falcon (RED) 1968 LTD Country Squire (GREEN) and a 1970 White Country Squire (white) I would love to own one of those cars again. I found this site on the internet and I think I came to the right place. I currently own a 1971 VW bus that is in excellent condtion (found my old high school car) There is a parking spot available next to the bus?????
After a few beers...................on you Time for show and tell, This is my little baby......This was Christmas present to my wife 2 years ago.. She had a big family and they traveled around in one of these.. Lots of ski trips (6) kids. She did not like it so much as an every day driver...Too much work to drive compared to modern day cars.
Thats cool about the X-mas present...you almost talk about it in the past tence, do you still have it? I like it, when i started dating my wife a old VW van was on the search list (split window) but...... life happened and She/we ended up with a new Mini Van because we could'nt afford a new wagon in 99... , hope you find that 'rite" wagon
Steely, from the Westside of Portland. If you're looking for a wagon...leave it to the guys/gals on this site to help you find it. Some of them seem like they could pull rabbits out of hats around here. Tell 'em what you're looking for and they're sure to find several to choose from. Great place, this site. Kick back, relax and stay a while.
I had a blue and white 69 with a type 1 dual port 1600 years ago. Still 70 mph was achieved only downhill.
like my granny always said..."be careful what you wish for"... were more than happy to spend others money cool bus btw your in Oregon??...not only is that VW country...its Wagon Country !! should be easy to find one!!
Obviously missed a comma. It read fine when I wrote it. You wouldn't have said a thing if SilverFox wrote it but you've met me. Well preserved for 1600 years huh?
The 1958 oldsmobile holiday 88 is very good looking to me but they are probably museum pieces by now. At some point maybe in the early 70's station wagons stopped rattling and squeaking... They must have figured out the fit and finish a little better by then. The dog put out the claws and tried to hang on when we went around corners and there was the sound of her claws trying to grip that rough painted metal surface and then seeing her nose slide across the back window like a big magic marker. I think that was a 1968 ford ltd country squire.
Nice clean bus! I had a marigold 77 VW bus from 90 to 92. When I first bought it I took the back bench out and installed a wooden platform for a queen sized futon, added curtains, and then spent the next three months slowly winding my way from Seattle to Baltimore. Great memories. I didn't even mind slowly chugging up hill in the Rockies at 45-50 mph.
Nice van; is it all original or restored. Either way, it's a beauty, not nearly as sweet as a '68 Squire, but still nice!
