Hi members, I was going to wait for a wash in the good weather, but decided to upload the rainy photos of my newly acquired Canadian Colony Park (what is show and tell without the show?). I am already in love. Just drove more than 3000 trouble-free miles from British Columbia back to NJ, getting 25 mpg (better than our 2007 Outback!) This will be my daily driver, but I plan to be a bit cautious about where I park and about driving on salted roads. Hoping to make room in the garage before the fall. The best way to describe this sweet ride is "time warp". I'm going to put it in a local car show this summer to put a memory lane smile on people's faces.
Thanks Snooterbuckets, I Appreciate the comments. I'm going to do all I can to uphold the level of care the previous owner showed this great car.
I have to say that black with woodgrain is probably one of the most stunning combinations that I have seen. I have seen one Roadmaster in black w/ woodgrain and a 77 Country Squire in black with woodgrain...perhaps another wagon or two that don't come to mind at the moment (and all of them are only in pictures). Definitely a rare color...but wow! A beautiful Colony Park, that one! Congrats.
Thanks TopherS! I always liked the white, silver and black woodies, especially with a dark red interior.
You probably are Silverfox. It still shows for sale on cars-on-line.com, with photos taken 2 years ago.
I love that wagon but the price was just too high for me. I think it is a gorgeous wagon and would have loved to have it. You are a lucky man. Me? I would NEVER drive that car in the winter.
Ooh, heated windshield and leather. Nice looking wagon. Don't mess up that wood trim on the dash. You'll probably never find another one with the holes for the three buttons.
Congratulations 90merc, that is one clean looking Colony Park! My father in law has the Ford counterpart which has 280,000 kms (approx 174,000 miles), it sits for 6 months of the year as he spends the winter down South, every spring he's amazed when it fires right up after one turn. He loves that car and for good reason, it's been solid and trouble free all the years he's owned it... great car, enjoy it!
I agree Silverfox. I have wanted a mint woody for many years, but the kids were too young and would have destroyed it. I would look on used car sites for classic wagons periodically, and daydream, so when I made the decision to go after one, I had already seen the ad for this one. I do not intend to salt the undercarriage of this almost flawlessly dry piece of history. A friend owns a repair shop, and I was there today getting the oil changed from the cross-country haul. The mechanics and customers were marveling over the state of the vehicle. I'll take good care of it for all of us wagon nuts.
Any troubles importing it from Canuckistan? Curious what ratio rear end it came with and if it has a rear sway bar.
