Look what I found right here in Ridgecrest. No engine or tranny but the body looks good. 72 Monaco wagon. http://bakersfield.craigslist.org/cto/1701298026.html
Looks like paint got cooked......... That '63 LeMans convert the guy is selling would make a cute vehicle, once done.
Ashes to ashes , dust to dust. This 1972 Monaco wagons life would seem too short to many, but those who were touched by her understood that the quality of existence far exceeds the quantity of time in which one lives. Her gentle smooth ride brought so much joy to someone or their family. Now I need to mapquest Ridgecrest , ill offer this guy 150 bucks and haul it back to the San Francisco Bay Area. This wagon didnt die in vain. This one must have been the bpne stock of the bone stock, no woodgreain decals and the hideaways are missing or maybe missing. from this to this Thanks tbirdsps, Great find, kuddos to you
Actually, you're looking at the woodgrain decals. That's what they look like after 38 years in the high desert sun.
1. Could the headlight doors just be open and still there? 2. The description said it came with a 440. That sounds good but it and the tranny are missing. 3. I'd bet there's no rust. 4. Bring wheels and tires. The ad said it goes without.
I'll take that wagon. But F27 should snatch it up if it is rust free and has some decent interior parts.
Dosent shock me that the 440 is gone. Some mopar nut probably took that 727 torque-flight transmission for his Duster or Dart or whatever. My Dodge really dosent need anything from the wagon. But I would like to haul it back here and let the thing sit in my sideyard or somewhere. All kidding aside these 72 Monaco wagons with the fuselodge body are rare. Real rare. Id keep the thing here just in case someone decides to run a red light and plow into it, id have an extra front clip or whatever. Anything mechanical can be bought new or rebuilt but body pices are gold. You know Krash, your probably right about the woodgrain decals. Now that I take a closer look at it. Dosent surprise me that there almost or maybe no rust on this wagon. But on the same token im almost certain the insides are pretty cooked. The seats, dash, the headliners all sunbaked beyond use.
F-27 - you should think about putting some Dodge rally wheels on that Monaco - would really set it off...... There's also some A/M larger sizes available as well....
The Monaco is a basketcase for sure. Looks like a bomb went off inside it. I asked him for a few better pics and where hes at. He mailed me back. pics are below. Dear Scott, The San Francisco bay area is an 8-10 hour drive, and the last car I had shipped up there cost $450. Not trying to talk you out of buying my car. I like money as much as the next guy, but it's kind of a long way to go to get a parts car, even with a really good rust-free body.
